Overview.

Aussie Disposals is a camping and outdoor retailer with over 30 stores across Australia. It sells a range of products including camping gear, work clothing and military surplus.

In 2013 Aussie Disposals approached Bliss Media to audit their existing site and review their digital strategy. We applied our extensive experience in the outdoor and camping sector, conducted a site audit, user and stakeholder research, and developed a digital strategy. A full 12-month digital plan was created, enabling sufficient preparation of budgets, creative and resources from both parties.

Both the desktop and mobile websites use Magento Enterprise Solution CMS.

Digital Audit Insights.

conversions.

Aussie Disposal's website had good traffic however conversion statistics were poor. Our solution was to revise the information architecture (including page layout) to improve usability and in turn profitability.

search.

The site was not performing well in organic searches. Our SEO division, Bliss Search Agency optimised the site for better search performance. Results in organic search have been excellent.

mobile.

Analytics showed that many visitors to the site were using mobile devices however engagement from those devices was poor. Our solution was to design and build a mobile-specific site (which has resulted in a 100% increase in conversions).

Conversion Optimisation.

We concentrated our strategy on converting visitors to the website into buying customers. We achieved this by redesigning the layout and information architecture of the website. Emphasis on the new design was on clarity and funneling users through a quick and easy check-out process.

A core part of our strategy to boost conversions was to produce a mobile commerce version of the site.

Results.

After 12 months the result of our strategy has been very positive. Aussie Disposals now considers their ecommerce website a major sales channel for their business. Today we continue to partner with Aussie Disposals to help grow their digital presence.
